Object description: Shaman's rattle, consisting of a gourd with a perforation at either end, the cane handle is attached through the perforations. There are two other perforations in the top of the gourd either side of where the cane handle projects out. [SM 22/12/2008]

Research notes: This object was examined by Peter Rivière in January 2009. He noted that the spirit stones inside Shamans' rattles were fed with tobacco by removing the handle from the rattle and blowing smoke inside. [SM 12/01/2009]
